Middle Syndicate Overnight Camp

This morning the middle syndicate were putting tents up on the field because they are staying overnight at school. The teachers are sleeping in the biggest tent. We saw mattresses, pillows, camp stretchers and sleeping bags.  Room 2 think they will need torches so they can see in the dark!

Swimming!

We are very lucky at Vardon School because we go swimming every day. 

 Room 1 and Room 2 go swimming straight after lunch. We have been learning to be more confident in the water and we have been trying new skills.

We had a swimming demonstration and we showed our parents and families what we do at school swimming.  Lots of people came to watch us and they took photos and videos of us. The water was very warm and we tried our hardest with our swimming.

Tabloid Sports Day

We had a lot of fun on Tabloid Sports Day.  There were lots of activities to do and we all met new friends from other classes.  We were very tired by the end of the morning but we all had a Slurpee which cooled us down a bit.

We watched the Middle Team and Senior Team have their tug of war competition.  They are really strong and they tried very hard to pull the rope over the mark.

Rosie The Cow Visit

This afternoon we had lots of fun at the Rosie the Cow Show!  Becky and Matt sang and danced with Rosie the cow.  Becky knew everything and Matt didn't know anything at all!  He said he came from Hamilton too.  He was funny when he wouldn't hug Rosie and he stood in a cow pat. We were very lucky to see the show.  We learnt that cows have four stomachs and they need to be milked twice every day.

Numbers and Counting

We are learning about working together and showing good relationships.  We shared our learning in maths today. We practised counting and thinking of ways to show our number.

Week 3 in Room 2

Room 2 are working hard at their learning.

We have started having turns on the computer and we are learning how to log in to Room 2.  We do some work on Funways and next we will learn about Study Ladder.  Some of us have been trying the ipad out for our spelling word practice. We all have to have our ICT agreements signed so that we can use the computers!

We are writing our stories in our books now. Lily and Leighton are sharing their work in these photos.





























We have been learning about words that start with a and we had to match the pictures. It was a bit tricky!  We helped each other to match them correctly.







Last week we started reading a big book about Henry the elephant.
We all had a turn at making a video of our own story. We were learning to remember a story and retell it in our own words!
